Menus
Novaboard has two menu bars: the editor's, shown while a file is open, and a smaller one on the file grid. This page lists what is in each of them.
Menu Bar
The desktop menu bar is organized into familiar top-level menus. Each one groups related commands so they are easy to find without the command palette.

Items that toggle something (Tile Mode, the grid options, Quick Mask, Onion Skin, Ping-Pong, Full Screen, panels) carry a checkmark when they are on.
Reset Layout and Full Screen
The last two View items are about the window rather than the canvas. Reset Layout puts every panel back where it started, which is the way out of a dock arrangement you no longer want; layouts are saved per screen-width bucket, so resetting on a laptop leaves your external-monitor arrangement alone. Full Screen hands the whole screen to Novaboard using the browser's own full-screen mode, and carries a checkmark while it is on. It only appears when the browser offers full screen at all, so on iPhone and iPad the item is absent.
Window ▸ Display
Display picks which chrome, meaning which shell and container strategy, Novaboard renders. The choice is saved in the browser and only changes the interface: touch and pen input stay available whichever mode you pick.
- Auto — Follows the device. A viewport 768px wide or narrower gets mobile, a touch-first tablet (its main pointer is coarse) gets tablet, everything else gets desktop. The check is screen width plus pointer type, never the browser's user agent
- Mobile — The phone shell: sheets and drawers in place of docked panels, and the menus in a sheet rather than a menu bar. Nothing is shrunk, it is a different interface
- Tablet — The same dock with touch sizing on top: 44px tool and layer buttons, a wider toolbar column, and thicker folded icon strips. Floating and popped-out panel windows are off, since neither maps to touch, and saved layouts keep a separate tablet arrangement
- Desktop — The full dock with floating panels and popout windows
Tool Options Row
Below the menus sits the tool options row: the name of the tool you are holding, then its options, then the operations that act on the whole file. The options scroll sideways when a tool has more of them than the row can show, so nothing is ever cut off.
The File Grid's Menus
With no file open you are on the file grid, and its navbar carries three menus of its own. They are shorter, because nothing that needs a canvas belongs there.
- File — New File…, Open… (any importable format) and Import Spritesheet…, then Export All Files, then Import Workspace and Export Workspace, then Exit
- Edit — Keyboard Shortcuts and User Preferences…
- Help — The same Help menu the editor has
Export Workspace writes every file in the active workspace, plus its groups
and camera position, into a single .novaspace archive. Import Workspace reads one back as a new workspace; dropping a .novaspace file onto the window does the same thing. Export All Files is the
other one: separate files rather than one archive. See Import & Export for what each format holds.
