Sprite Sheet Splitter

The splitter looks for fully transparent rows and columns that repeat at an even spacing and uses them as the lines between frames. When you enter a padding, it looks for gaps of exactly that width instead. If nothing believable turns up, it cuts the sheet into one row of square frames and tells you so; type the frame width and height to fix it.

Enter the gap as Padding and any border around the whole sheet as Margin. The grid is detected again with that spacing, and the gaps are left out of every frame.

No. This tool cuts a grid of equal cells. For packed sheets with sprites of different sizes, open the image in Novaboard and draw a box around each sprite with the Slice tool, which exports each slice on its own.

Each frame is named with the prefix, an underscore and its number, zero-padded so the files sort in order: slime_00.png, slime_01.png and so on. The prefix starts as your file name and numbering starts at 0 or 1, whichever you pick. Frames are numbered in reading order, row by row or column by column.
