Features

Frames in Any Order

Frames sort by filename when you add them. Drag one to move it, remove it with its X, or add more at the end.

Live Preview

The animation plays at the FPS you pick while you change the loop, scale, background and bounce.

Crisp, Transparent Pixel Art

Transparent pixels stay transparent, and the 1x to 8x scale uses nearest neighbour so pixel art never blurs.

How to Make a GIF from Images

1. Upload your frames

Select every PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF frame at once. Name them walk_01, walk_02 and so on and they land in order.

2. Order and time them

Drag frames into place, set the FPS and how often the GIF loops, and tick Bounce to play the frames back and forth.

3. Download the GIF

Pick a scale and background, then download the GIF or open the frames as an animation in Novaboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a GIF from PNG images?

Upload all the PNG frames at once. They are sorted by filename, so frame_01.png comes before frame_02.png. Drag any frame to change the order, choose the FPS and loop, and press Download GIF. Frames of different sizes are centred on a canvas as big as the largest one.

Does the GIF keep transparency?

Yes. Fully transparent pixels stay transparent in the GIF, and each frame clears before the next one so nothing smears. GIF has no partial transparency, so pixels under 50% opacity become clear and the rest become solid. Pick a solid background colour if you want no transparency at all.

What FPS should I use for pixel art?

Most pixel art walk cycles and idle loops look right at 8 to 12 FPS. Use 24 FPS for smooth motion with many in-between frames. GIF stores delays in hundredths of a second, so some speeds round slightly: 24 FPS plays each frame for 40 ms.

Why do colours look different?

A GIF frame can hold at most 256 colours. Pixel art usually fits and keeps its exact colours; photos and gradients get reduced to the 256 closest colours per frame, which can show banding.

Can I add an animated GIF as a frame?

You can upload a GIF, but only its first frame is used. To pull every frame out of a GIF, use Split GIF into Frames first.

Can I make a GIF from a sprite sheet?

Yes. Use Sprite Sheet to GIF, which finds the grid in your sheet and animates it without cutting the frames out first.

Is it free? Are my images uploaded?

It is free with no signup and no watermark. Your frames are combined and encoded in your browser and never sent to a server.
