What is a .gal file?
GraphicsGale is a Windows pixel art and animation editor that no longer gets updates. Its .gal files hold frames, layers, frame timing and an indexed palette.
What does the viewer show?
The composited frame, playback, a frame slider, every layer with its visibility and opacity, the palette and the canvas size.
Can I edit the file?
Yes. Click "Open in Novaboard" to load it into the free editor with its layers and frames intact, then save it as .nova or export it.
Can I convert it to another format?
Yes. Use PNG, GIF, JPG, WebP, BMP, QOI, Aseprite, PSD or ORA to convert it, or click "Download this frame as PNG" to save the frame you are looking at.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is read and drawn by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
