Frequently Asked Questions
Why convert WebP instead of using it directly as a cursor?
Windows doesn't recognize WebP as a cursor format at all — it only accepts CUR (and ANI for animated cursors). This tool decodes your WebP and repacks it as a real CUR file.
Does WebP transparency survive the conversion?
Yes. WebP's alpha channel is preserved through every generated size, so transparent backgrounds stay transparent in the cursor.
What is the cursor hotspot?
The hotspot is the exact pixel that registers clicks. For an arrow cursor it's the tip; for a crosshair it's the center. Drag the sliders or use a preset to set it.
What happens if my WebP is larger than 256×256?
Windows cursors max out at 256×256, so larger source images are automatically scaled down before the cursor sizes are cut from them.
