Pixel Art Analyzer

Upload pixel art to detect its original size, extract the palette, and analyze animation frames.

Features

Pixel Scale Detection

Automatically detects if your pixel art has been upscaled and finds the original resolution.

Palette Extraction

Extracts every unique color from your image and exports in GPL, ACO, ASE, PAL, JSON, or PNG strip.

Animation Analysis

Frequently Asked Questions

How does pixel scale detection work?

The tool checks if the image is made of uniform NxN blocks of identical pixels. If 95%+ of sampled blocks are uniform at a given scale, it reports that as the detected pixel size.

What palette export formats are supported?

GPL (GIMP/Aseprite), ACO (Photoshop Swatches), ASE (Adobe Swatch Exchange), PAL (Paint Shop Pro), JSON, and PNG strip (1px height image).

Does it work with animated images?

Yes. GIF and APNG files are parsed and played back with their original timing. You can scrub through frames, and colors are extracted from all frames combined.

What does "Export Original Size" do?

If the image was upscaled (e.g., a 16x16 sprite scaled to 64x64), this exports it back at the detected original resolution in the same format as the source file.
