Scaling Algorithms

Nearest Neighbor

Classic pixel-perfect scaling. Each pixel becomes a block.

Scale2x / Scale3x

Smart edge detection that smooths diagonal lines.

HQ2x

Advanced algorithm with subtle anti-aliasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which algorithm should I use?

Nearest: For authentic retro look.
Scale2x/3x: For promotional art or larger displays.
HQ2x: For subtle smoothing.

Why does my image look blurry?

Make sure your source image is actual pixel art (small dimensions, no anti-aliasing). These algorithms work best on crisp, low-resolution images.

What about non-integer scaling?

You can scale by any percentage. Integer scales (100%, 200%, etc.) with Nearest Neighbor preserve pixel-perfect quality. Non-integer scales may introduce some interpolation.
