Frequently Asked Questions
What is PPM format?
PPM (Portable Pixmap) is an RGB color image format from the Netpbm family. It stores 24-bit color (8 bits per channel) and is widely supported in scientific and image processing tools.
How is transparency handled?
PPM does not support transparency. Transparent and semi-transparent pixels are alpha-blended with the selected background color.
ASCII vs Binary?
ASCII format (P3) stores RGB values as readable numbers. Binary format (P6) is 3× smaller and faster to load, but not human-readable.
