Frequently Asked Questions

What is OKLCH?

OKLCH is a perceptually uniform color space. Unlike HSL, equal numeric changes in OKLCH produce equal perceived changes to the human eye.

Why use OKLCH instead of HSL?

When you shift hues in HSL, some colors become much brighter or darker (e.g., yellow vs blue). OKLCH maintains consistent brightness during hue shifts, producing more natural-looking color variations.

What is Chroma?

Chroma is similar to saturation but perceptually uniform. It measures how colorful a color appears, from gray (0) to vivid colors (~0.4).
